Passed away peacefully at KGH surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. Survived by her beloved husband and best friend Dale of 57 years. Loving mother to Lisa Bendig (Todd) and Belinda Thompson. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Dillon Bendig (Faith) and Alison Bendig (Mekhi). Dear sister to Shirley Fretz (late Glenn) and the late Donald Peters (Marlene). Survived by her sisters-in-law Marjorie Turcotte (late Wilfred), Lois Harquail (late Lonnie), Armilda Dixon (late Wayne) and brothers-in-law Douglas Thompson (Barb), David Thompson (Jane) and Glenn Thompson (Connie). Predeceased by her sisters-in-law Joan Balesdent (late Eddie), Geraldine Bald (late Bob) and Debbie Thompson, and brother-in law Reginald Thompson (Marg). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bonnie Thompson was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Bonnie was a grade 1 & 2 elementary school teacher for 8 years in New Hamburg. She also managed an educational supply store in Kitchener for 16 years before moving to Odessa in 1999.  Bonnie recently retired after 24 years of service with the County of Lennox & Addington where she worked in various libraries as well as the Museum.

Please join the family on Friday, August 14, 2026 to celebrate Bonnie’s life at Selby Community Hall, 114 Pleasant Drive, Selby from 12 – 3 pm., with memories being shared at 1 pm. This will be a relaxed informal gathering and all are welcome. Interment will follow at Morven Cemetery at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Museum of Lennox and Addington.
