Estelita Acedillo Figueroa Thompson was born on March 13, 1943, in Sta. Rita, Minalin, Pampanga, Philippines. The second child and only daughter, she is survived by her brothers Rufino and Jose, and predeceased by Renato and Lorenzo. Fondly called “Ester” by her friends, she came to Canada in December 1990 and settled in Port Dover after marrying the late Allan Thompson in July 1991.

She is survived by stepdaughter Barbara (Ron White) and grandchildren Tammy (Pat Simms), Sheri, and stepson Jim and grandchildren Chrystal, Darryl, and Tyler. A skilled and dedicated seamstress, she was admired for her custom wedding gowns and dresses. Her July 1st gatherings in Port Dover, featuring her famous lumpia shanghai and noodles, will long be remembered.

Friends are invited to visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover, on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11 am at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Lynn Park Rd., Port Dover, with Father Charles Akinloye as celebrant. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Port Dover Lifeline Food Bank are appreciated.
