With heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Linda Ella Thompson, on July 11, 2026. Her family feels immense gratitude for the love, laughter, and memories she shared throughout her 75 years of life.
Linda was born in Sarnia, Ontario, in 1950 to Howard and Marjorie Percival. In April of 1970, she married the love of her life, Paul and together they built a life centered around family, farming, friendship, and community. Paul predeceased her in 1995.
Linda worked in healthcare at Chateau Gardens as a Registered Nurses Assistant for 30 years.
She was a devoted mother to her children, Tracy and Greg. She carried immense pride for both of her children throughout her life, and especially cherished the memory of her beloved son Greg, who passed away in 2006. Greg’s legacy continues to live on in the community through Skeeter Park, the renamed local baseball diamond, the North Middlesex Skeeters, and the scholarships established in his memory. It brought Linda great joy to present those scholarships and to see young people benefit from Greg’s lasting impact.
Family and community were at the center of Linda’s life. For more than 30 years, she considered the Klondike Trailer Park her second home. She loved everything about campground life — especially riding around on her golf cart, selling 50/50 tickets, and spending time with the many friends who became family there over the years.
Linda was deeply involved in her community and gave generously of her time and energy. She volunteered with Second Blessings, the Parkhill Royal Canadian Legion, and quietly supported countless charitable causes, particularly organizations helping those experiencing homelessness.
Linda embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved dressing up for any occasion, taking trips, visiting the casino, hunting for treasures while thrifting, and spending time at the Locality Wellness Hub, where the friendships and conversations were every bit as important as the exercise.
She will be remembered for her generosity, her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and her remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. Her laughter, warmth, and sense of fun left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Linda leaves behind her cherished daughter, Tracy and her treasured granddaughter, Saege. As her only grandchild, Saege held a special place in Linda’s heart, and Linda cherished every moment with her, speaking of her with pride and love.

Linda’s legacy lives on in the communities she served, the friendships she cherished, and the family she loved so deeply. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered always.

September 20, 2026 at the Parkhill Royal Canadian Legion Branch #341 from 11am to 4pm.
