TIBAY, Zsigmond Tibay

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our loving father and grandpa on July 10th 2026 in his 97th year. Zsigmond Tibay is now reunited with the love of his life, Maria Tibay, whose memory he carried in his heart every day. We find comfort in knowing they are together again, reunited in eternal peace.

Cherished father to Marianna (Alex), Richard (Cindy), and John. Beloved Grandpa to Michael, Christopher (Raisa), Alyssa (Matthew), Daniel (Oni) and Ashley.

Born in Hungary, he immigrated to Canada in 1955, where he worked as a lumberjack in Geraldton and Longlac. In 1957, he moved to Hamilton, where he met his wife, Maria, while attending English classes. Together they built a life as poultry farmers and business owners, creating a legacy founded on hard work, perseverance, and devotion to their family.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Meadows Long-Term Care Home in Ancaster for their compassionate care, kindness, and support.

For those who wish, memorial donations made to the John Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Church (121 Birch Avenue, Hamilton) would be appreciated. A private celebration of Zsigmond’s life will be held by the family at a later date.

Your unconditional love will be missed forever… we love you.
