Peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on May 19th, 2025, John Timmermans passed away at the age of 97.
Loving husband of the late Gertrude Timmermans (née Peters; 2016). Beloved father of Ken (Antoinette), Martin (Joanne), Ted, Rita (Kevin) Lewis, and Gerry (Ann). Predeceased by his son Jack (1995).
Dear grandpa of Jason, Lynn (Jordan), Julie, Michael (Krista), Ryan (Trudy), Kayla (David), Rachel (Martin), Katie, Jamie (Shannon), Jenna (Tim), Jacqueline, Jazz, and Mikaela. Proud great-grandpa of Mazie, Norah, Ashton, Max, Molly, Benny, Christopher, Henry, George, Cornelius, Audrey, Felicity, Hailey, Colton, Jillian, and Jon.
Remembered by his sisters Betsy (John), Maria (Arnold), and Bernadette (late Adrian); and predeceased by siblings Nelly (John), Leonard (Toni), Peter (Tera), and Hubert (Helen).
Fondly remembered by his extended family and in-laws, including Anne (John) Geerts, Carol (late Louie) Kennes, Rita (Frank) Vander Kant, Bob (Willie) Peters, and Elsie (Alfons) Couwenburg.
John immigrated to Canada in 1950 and made his life on a farm in Adelaide Township. He was hardworking and passed on his passion for farming to his family. In retirement, he and Gertrude enjoyed dancing and travelling together.
Friends will be received at Denning’s of Strathroy on Sunday, May 25th from 1:00–4:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 26th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
