TOMAS, Mary Tomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary, aged 84, of St. Thomas, Ontario, on April 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Rieder. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Werino Tomas, and her three infant brothers. Mary was the loving mother of Robert Tomas (Gail), Sandra Silverthorn (Warren), and Eric Tomas (Alicia). She was the proud grandmother of Justin Tomas (Danielle), Jordan Fischer (Chris), Ryan Tomas (Courteney), Caitlyn Silverthorn (Andrew), Megan Silverthorn (Bryce), Alex Tomas, and two precious great-grandchildren, Sloane and Jaxon Fischer.

Mary Tomas liked to travel, dance, sing, cook, bake and chat with her friends and family. She was always an enthusiastic cheerleader at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was also very active in the local community. Mary’s faith was incredibly important to her. Her warmth and kindness will be missed by all.

Her family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Barrie Family Hospice for their devoted care during her final weeks.

Family will receive friends on Monday May 4, 2026 at JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. N, Simcoe from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on May 5, 2026 at St. Mary’s Parish in Simcoe at 10:45. Rite of committal will follow at Delhi Cemetery.
