Passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by her children and grandchildren after a brief illness. Amy was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 23, 1941, and immigrated to Canada with her beloved husband William Te Yang Tsai (predeceased in 2002) on December 10, 1971. In Oshawa, Ontario, they built a life together cultivating friendships, embracing new traditions, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Amy was the heart of her family, nurturing a warm and inviting home filled with delicious meals and strong family bonds. Her life was a testament to her strength of character and the kindness she generously shared. Amy was a gracious host, a talented cook, an avid gardener, and a passionate traveler.
A devoted mother and Ahma, Amy will be forever cherished by her children, David Tsai (recently predeceased by Neve Tsai), John Tsai (Carolyn Tsai), Wendy Tsai Cochrane (Rob Cochrane), grandchildren Rochelle Pizzuti (Christian Pizzuti), Erica Tsai, Liam Tsai, Alex Tsai, Shannon Tsai, Ben Cochrane, and Piper Cochrane.
A Buddhist ceremony for Amy was conducted in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 12, 2024. Funeral services will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, on Amy’s birthday, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the chapel. Reception will follow.
