We have lost Our Dear Emma. She tried and tried but this time couldn’t prevail against an advanced infection. Emma had a big heart that touched so many people. Her precious time with us was spent creating and sharing her crafts. She had a restlessness to create and despite very low vision has an enormous body of work. The many caregivers she encountered were always gifted a piece of her work and they remembered her for it.

Emma Claire Turnbull found purpose and meaning despite her health and physical struggles. She loved her crafts, beads, audio books, restaurants, outings, singing and most of all her treasured family and friends.

We wish to thank Emma’s many devoted caregivers especially her long-term friend Gail Perras. Gail’s support was essential to Emma’s daily happiness. Curtis Driedger brought his musical soul to her and made recordings of her singing that we treasure. We thank Marlis Lindsay who lovingly took on the role of being her other mother.

Emma leaves behind her mOm and DaD, Carolyn and Neil Turnbull and her younger sister Samantha Turnbull and husband Adam Shirley. Our small family has a big reach. She died surrounded by the love of hundreds of the fortunate ones who knew her. She was a true gift.

There will be a Celebration of Life, Saturday April 25th, The Gallery Building, Hedgerow Farm, Sunderland. 2:00 pm.
