Peacefully passed away on November 3, 2026 at Thorntonview Long Term Care, at the age of 92.
Beloved husband of Claudette for over 67 wonderful years. Loving father of Josette Poulin-Stephen (Derick), the late Daniel Poulin (Katherine), Brigitte Muldoon (Les), and Martin Poulin (Shannon McParland). Cherished grandpapa of Mathew (Jessie), Adam, Elisa (Ritchie), Jonathan (Emily), Jordan (Kim), Sara, Emma (Dylan), and Sydney and great-grandpapa of Lexi, Lincoln, Maren, Dawson, and Griffin.
Valere Poulin was one of many children and will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings and their families.
Born in St. Camille, Quebec, he made the move to Ontario at just 19 years of age in search of work and opportunity, beginning a long and dedicated career. He proudly worked at General Motors for 38 years, and retirement didn’t slow him down. He continued working the truck tours for another seven years, a job he truly enjoyed. A talented woodworker and a true jack-of-all-trades, he was happiest when he had something to keep him busy.
Above all, he was a devoted and supportive father who never missed an opportunity to be there for his children, especially taking them to hockey and cheering them on along the way. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, share his wisdom, and offer thoughtful advice. His hard work, resourcefulness, and the guidance he provided will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation will take place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Arrangements entrusted to Armstrong Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
