It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Anne VanderMeer who has gone home to be with the Lord. Sharon passed peacefully with her loving family by her side at Peterborough Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the age of 72. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Jeffery, and her children Trudy Hunt (Tim), Nancy Conway, Tony Conway, Tabitha Fuerst (Jeff). Sharon leaves behind her loving grandchildren Mary, Laura, Brandon, Pagan, Savannah, Emma, and Madison. Sharon will be missed by her caring mother-in-law Corry VanderMeer, father-in-law Auke VanderMeer (predeceased), sister-in-laws Roxanne Ewing (Doug), Marcia Demmer (Gerald), brother-in-law Mike VanderMeer (Jennifer), cousin Trudy Braman (Andrew), and her many nieces, nephews, and her fur baby Lucy.
Sharon had a laugh that was contagious and could put a smile on anyone’s face. She had a passion for cooking, loved the outdoors, and spent as much time as she could camping and travelling. Her favorite pastime was going back home to St. John, New Brunswick, where many wonderful memories were made.
At this time, we would like to thank all the staff in the ICU unit who kept Sharon comfortable while she was in their care.
