VANDERWAL, Anna Vanderwal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Vanderwal in her 86th year. Anna passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Oak Ridges Hospice on January 18, 2026 after a short illness.

Predeceased by her husband John (2018). Much loved mother of Mary Anne (Robert Orav), Ron Vanderwal (Joan) and Steve Vanderwal (Wendy). Cherished grandmother to Ashley (Chris) and Kyle Vanderwal, Lauren and Catherine Orav and Ryan and Greg Blanchet.  Sister of Bill Vliek (Brenda predeceased).  Predeceased by brothers Fred (June) and Gary (Pat). Sister-in-law to Margaret Hayward (Lorne), Thea Keating (Al) and Mike Vanderwal (Cathy). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Cecil Vanderwal (Donna), Evert Vanderwal (Annie deceased), Lou Vanderwal (Leonie), and Mattie Hammond (Kent).

Anna will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. Having lived in Uxbridge for a very long time, she met many people and friends through her work at local stores, volunteer work, Aquafit and the Senior Centre.  Anna was a friendly, kind woman who enjoyed helping and doing things for others.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Funeral will take place on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 1p.m. Reception will immediately follow.
