VANHAVERBEKE, Elise Vanhaverbeke

Passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2026, in her 80th year, at Ed’s House in Cobourg, Ontario, surrounded by family. Lise and her husband Jim shared a loving and devoted 59 years together.

Loving mother of Donna Vanhaverbeke-Löster (Mark) and cherished Dandan of Aidan, Laura, and Rhiannon.

Daughter of the late Polydore Grenier and Alice Ferland and loving sister of Simon and Judith Grenier. Predeceased by her son Ken, brother Jean-Marie (Lorraine), and sister Marie.

A graduate of Ottawa General Hospital, affiliated with the University of Ottawa. Long time registered nurse at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in intensive care and emergency departments.

The family are grateful for the wonderful support and care Lise received from friends who gave nursing care and physicians who were involved, especially Dr. Fransisco Mulé and the wonderful staff at Ed’s House.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 13, 2026 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic church in Bowmanville on Saturday February 14, 2026 at 11:00am. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Private family rite of committal prayers will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lise’s memory can be made to Bereaved Families of Ontario, Durham region, Ed’s House in Cobourg, Ontario and Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Emergency department.
