Passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was 90 years old. Loving husband of 46 years to the late Kim Sheppard-Veldhuizen(Dec. 17, 2025). Dear father of Suzan Johnson(Peter), Ron Veldhuizen(Anita), Lorraine Councell(Danny) and Kathy Hayhoe(Ron). Brother of Hennie Veldhuizen(Pauline), Ena VanViegen(Conrad) and Winnie Cornelissen. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 5 of his siblings. Born in Renswoude, The Netherlands on October 12, 1935, son of the late Aart and Geurtje(vanBrummelen) Veldhuizen. Aart came to Canada with his family in the 1950s and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a tool and die maker, working for Northern Telecom for over 30 years. He also had a passion for beekeeping and took great joy in being actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Aart and Kim will be held at the Woodhouse United Church(2154 Norfolk County Hwy 24, Simcoe, ON N0E 1W0) on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation-burial in the spring, Woodhouse United Church Cemetery.
