Passed away peacefully at home in Toronto on April 17, 2026, at the age of 99, with her family around her.

Margaret was born on November 9, 1926, in Georgetown, Guyana, and lived with her beloved Aunty Maisie and Uncle Steven and their children Eve, Philip, Judy, Roseanne, Patrick, and Stephen. Maggie immigrated to Canada in 1962 to begin a new life with her young family. She made a home in Toronto that was never empty and for sixty years her family and her faith were the centre of everything.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vibert Vieira (2007); her daughter, Michelle Blackmore (2019); and her brothers, John, Tony, and Joseph. She is survived by her sons, John (Christine) and Tony (Ruth); by her grandchildren, who knew her as Nanny, Tammy, Amanda (Jordan), J.C. (Michelle), Tanya (Kris), Shawn (Stephanie), Ryan (Hazel), and Carly (Chris); and by her great-grandchildren, who knew her as GG, Jerney, Oliver, Alessia, Miles, Alex, Emily, Payton, Scarlett, Brantley, Mackennah, and Skylah.

Her dogs Tessa, Tipper, and Snuggles, loved like her own, went before her.

Visitation will be take place at De Stefano Funeral Home (1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa) on Satrurday, April 25th from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
