It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mom, Grace Malda, on October 20, 2026, at the age of 86.
Violet Deanna Grace Malda was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend. She loved her family in her own way that was a special part of who she was, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
She was the devoted mother of John (Michelle) and Kim (Ian), and a loving grandmother to Rena (Brandon), Stephanie (Jeremy), and Kevin (Jessica). Grace was blessed with seven great-grandchildren — Marshall, Charleigh, Camden, Lilly, Eleanor, Jack, and Maximus.
Grace is reunited with her cherished husband, Ben Malda, who passed away in 2017; her mother, Mary McDonald; her brothers, George Sundberg and Ron Sundberg; and her son-in-law, Bob Gaston.
She will be fondly remembered by her sister Barb Vujanovic (Vaso), Lucy Rekker (Siebe), and Helen Kloos (George); her brother, Rick Sundberg(Bonnie) and Shirley Sundberg; and her extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Oshawa for the loving care, kindness, and compassion they showed Grace. We are deeply thankful for the comfort and support you provided and for the care you gave her. Your dedication and thoughtfulness will always be appreciated.
Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we will treasure our memories, and the love that will continue to connect our family for generations to come.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Interment and Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Family and friends will be notified once arrangements have been finalized.
