Passed away peacefully at Hospice Quinte on March 13, 2026, at the age of 98. Ina was predeceased by her parents, Sydney & Edith Scagell (nee Paddon); her husband, James Stuart Walton (Stu); her brother, James Scagell; and her son, Jim Walton. Lovingly remembered by her daughter, Wendy Russell-Sheppard (Wayne Sheppard) and her daughter-in-law, Hope Walton. Ina was the beloved Grannie of Susan Russell (Darryl Rashotte), Karen Walton, Heather Ward (Ryan Ward) and cherished Great Grannie of Lauren Ward and Kate Ward. She was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews, and is fondly remembered by Alan, Glen and Mary Russell.
The family would like to express sincere thanks for the care and support from Nurse Practitioner Gen McDonald, the personal support staff from Care Partners, Paramed and the VON, the nurses and doctors from Belleville General Hospital and the caring staff and volunteers of Hospice Quinte. She was comforted by Major The Rev. Canon Don Aitchison and lay visitors from St. George’s Anglican Church in Trenton. In keeping with Ina’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Arrangements entrusted to Rushnell Funeral Home | 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588). A spring interment will be held at St. George’s Cemetery, Trenton.
