WATSON, Robert Douglas Watson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Douglas Watson on February 23, 2026, at the age of 82.

Bob was predeceased by his loving parents, Ellen and George Watson; his siblings, Mary Phipps and Cameron Watson; his daughter, Karen Watson (Jerry), step-son, Chris Hardy and grandson, Noah Hardy.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted partner, Nora Hardy of over 25 years. Cherished dad of Barb Watson (Gary Williams) and step-son Doug Hardy (Melissa). Bob was a proud and loving grandfather to Eddie, Jacob, Julie, Ella, and Declan, and great-grandfather to Jayda, Elayna, and Hunter. He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Dawn McCombe and Ann Masten and his many nieces and nephews.

Bob dedicated many years of service as a Custodian with the Durham District School Board, retiring at the age of 55. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he built throughout his career.

In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed biking, golfing, playing euchre, and bowling. He valued the simple pleasures of life and especially treasured time spent with family and friends.

Bob’s kindness, quiet strength, and sense of humour will be remembered always by those who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place and no service is being held at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Bob’s memory.
