Sadly, we announce the passing of Gregory Watters on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Ottawa Heart Institute. He was 70 years of age.
Beloved husband for 41 years to Brenda. Loving father to Kelly (Wayne Green), Jennifer (Kyle Sonnenburg), Jessica-Faye (partner Courtney Coady), Mathias, and Hannah. Proud poppa to twins Lawrence and Lucas.
Predeceased by his parents Lawrence Watters and Audrey Trottier. Gregory was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. He found joy in cooking for them, nurturing his garden, photographing sunrises, and enjoying thoughtful conversations with neighbours.
His interests included reading, collecting old comics and movies, and he was rarely without his trusty notebook and pen. His love for life, knowledge, and humour left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Gregory will be deeply missed by his loyal canine companion, Ragnarr (Rags). A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Smiths Falls & Perth District Hospital, Smiths Falls Food Bank, or the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and are greatly appreciated by the family.
