WATTERS, Paul Watters
July 6, 1953 - May 13, 2026
He was born in North Bay. He was the youngest son of Joseph and Charlotte, brother of Brian and Linda. Paul will be forever missed by his wife and best friend Ruth. He was cherished and loved deeply by so many people. Paul was an extremely generous and loving man. He lived his life joyfully, finding ways to make life fun and full of laughter. He was dedicated to helping others and found that with a career working at the School Boards and in private practice.
Paul Watters helped many young people with learning disabilities, in crisis or with their careers and life goals. Paul also had a passion for music. He was a big fan of Paul McCartney, and loved composing songs, playing his guitar and singing. Further to Paul’s creative endeavours was his enthusiasm for cooking. For Paul, “Food was Love!” His generous nature was often shown through meals and treats, offered to everyone that came into his life – family, friends, and all those employed to help at his home.
Paul and Ruth were devoted to each other and were married for 38 wonderful years at their home on the lake. Ruth and Paul’s love grew more deeply during the last six years, when Paul struggled with health issues. As Ruth faces a future without Paul, her guiding line will be…”What would Paul say? What would Paul do?” Cremation has taken place. Family and Friends will be received at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Saturday, July 4, 2026. A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The best way to honour Paul is to live joyfully, give generously and show kindness to others each day.
