It is with profoundly broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Matt. On November 21st, surrounded by his family, he left this world and we said our final goodbyes.

Matt’s greatest joy in life was being a dad. His daughter was his heart, and his family meant everything to him. He approached life with an ease and lightness that others admired, he never took things too seriously and believed in living fully in each moment. And looking back, that’s exactly what he did. Matt lived every day with enthusiasm, laughter and love.

Matt was proud of the work he did as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was skilled, hardworking, and dedicated, and he took great satisfaction in a job well done. Whether he was running machinery or lending a hand to coworkers, Matt brought his strong work ethic, steady presence and sense of humor to every jobsite.

He enjoyed the simple, unforgettable moments, riding his Harley, bonfires with friends and family, four wheeling and dirt biking, dancing, hunting, fishing, and charming every room he walked into. Matt was the life of the party. His energy was magnetic, his smile contagious, and he brought joy wherever he went.

Matt leaves behind his loving parents, Michelle and David White; his cherished daughter, Ava White; his brother Luke White (Theresa Francis), and niece Jade; his sister Mackenzie White (Evan Fudge); his partner, Darcy McMinn; and his many friends! Their hearts are forever marked by his absence, and forever grateful for the time they had with him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 6th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Royal Canadian Legion, 1550 Lansdowne St. West, Peterborough, ON where those closest to him will gather to honour the beautiful, spirited, unforgettable soul that Matt was.
