WILLEMS, Elizabeth Christina Willems

Passed on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Predeceased by her beloved husband Petrus (Peter) Willems. Mother of Joany (Ernest), Francis (Predeceased), Marion (David), Kathy (Predeceased) (Greg), Peter (Laura). Oma to Jordan (Shane), Pam (Kevin), Jack, Danika (Dusty), Matthew (Jessie), Natalie (Tim), Jacob (Paige), Zachary (Cailley). Groot Oma to Alex, Harley, Maddox, Mason, Skylar, Kingsley. Older Sister to John (Rita) Robbescheuten and predeceased siblings Gon (Earl) Charlie (Carolyn) and Mieke (Kenny).

Elizabeth Christina Willems, Mom, Oma, Groot Oma, Tante Lies, Liz, … known by a few different handles… passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Marigold Hospice. Missed by her family and friends she left behind a legacy of memories, love and pictures of herself holding babies and loving life. In her normal motherly/grandmotherly way she took a little time before passing on to allow her loved ones some time to process, share with each other and visit. We are filled with joy that she can be with her other heavenly family and feel blessed by her almost 90 years on earth with us.

The Willems family would like to thank Hope Street Terrace staff of Port Hope for their excellent care of Liz in the past 4 years.

A mass will take place on Wednesday June 10th at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi in Newcastle. Liz and Pete will then be buried at the Newtonville cemetery together, followed by a light lunch back in the basement hall of the church.

We wish to celebrate her life. It was a long one, it was a good one, and she made a difference to both her family, friends and her community.
