It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Alexander Cochrane, lovingly known as a Husband, Dad, and Opa, on September 22, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born in Oshawa, Ontario, on December 21, 1950, William lived a life filled with love, family, faith, hard work, and countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
William was the beloved husband of Carol Cochrane, his loving wife and lifelong companion. He cherished the time he spent with Carol and treasured the life they built together.
He was the proud father of Jason Cochrane, Ken Cochrane, and Shannon Jeffrey, and a loving Opa to Brooklyn, Braxton, Brody, Jacob, Abigail, Zachary, Lexxie, and Tyson. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family, making memories and watching them grow.
William was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 30 years at General Motors as a skilled trades welder, retiring in 2001. His strong work ethic and dedication reflected the man he was: dependable, committed, and proud of the life he worked hard to provide for his family.
His faith was a deeply important part of his life. William was very involved with Calvary Baptist Church, where his faith and relationship with God were important sources of strength and meaning. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and has been welcomed home into God’s loving arms.
William had a passion for cars and loved attending car shows with his beloved 1957 Chevy Bel Air. He also enjoyed going to car races with his family. These simple moments, shared with the people he loved, became some of the memories his family will hold closest to their hearts.
William will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol; his children, Jason, Ken, and Shannon; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Braxton, Brody, Jacob, Abigail, Zachary, Lexxie, and Tyson; his sisters, Wilhelmina Nickel and Margaret Downes; and his extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.
He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, lessons, laughter, and moments that will never be forgotten.
Although our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in knowing that William’s fight is over. He can finally rest peacefully, free from pain, and in the presence of the Lord.

You will forever live on in our hearts.There will be a visitation on Thursday, October 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mount Lawn Funeral Home located at 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby. The Funeral Service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, October 2nd located at 301 Rossland Rd East, Oshawa followed by a luncheon in the church and then at 3:00 p.m. there will be a burial at Bowmanville Cemetery 1330 Haines St, Bowmanville.
