It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of William “Bill” Williams at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on August 14, 2025.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Gordon, Bob, and Don, and his grandson Kieran Gooch.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lauri Williams and her partner Ian McIntosh, and his grandson Logan McIntosh. Bill is also survived by his son David Bannigan and his wife Bernie, as well as his grandsons Jarrod and Alexander, and former wife Marlene Williams.
Bill began his career as a reporter for the Kitchener Record before pursuing work as a welder, which led him to Alberta. He had many passions, including photography, art, and woodworking, and old cars.
In later years, Bill cherished living in Northern Ontario and made his home in Foleyet.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Fairview Mennonite Home for the kindness and care shown to Bill in his final months.
