He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Dietrich and Friedrich Wolfgang Dietrich; and his sister Marlene Daurer. He is survived by: his sister Doris Post; his significant other Linda Samek (Isobel Dietrich); his children, Monica Dietrich (Peter Veenstra) and Kyla Dietrich; his stepchildren, Stephen Samek (Nadine), Tricia Monery (Steve) and Paul Samek (April); and his grandchildren, Rowan, Jory, Riley, Payton, Kris, Nick and Nicole.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home (1105 Rest Acres Rd, Paris, ON N3L3E3). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home Chapel (1105 Rest Acres Rd, Paris, ON N3L3E3).

In lieu of flowers, Eugen has asked that donations be made to your choice of the following: Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Carpenter Hospice Burlington, or Canadian Cancer Society.
