WOODWORTH, Cheryl Lynn Woodworth

April 7, 1960 - March 26, 2026
WOODWORTH, Cheryl Lynn Woodworth

Our beloved mother, wife, and nanny has entered into eternity with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, with family at her side at the ARCH Hospice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on March 26, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband for over 50 years, Paul Allen Woodworth; her five children, Amber Lee Dawn Brown (Travis), Sarah Lynn Hopcraft (Rick), Laura Jane Naylor, Joseph Paul Allen Woodworth (Darren), Jessica Cheryl Herzig (Chris), 12 grandchildren, their spouses, 3 great-grandchildren, many foster children, her mother, Doris Shirley Schofield, her sister Connie (Constance) Marlene Schofield (Tim), niece, nephew, their spouses and children, many cousins, former sons-in-law, and her fur baby cat, Socks.

Cheryl was predeceased by her father, Alton Walter Schofield; her brother, Terry Alton Schofield; her grandparents, James and Hilda Schofield, and Andrew and Jessie Schofield; and her fur baby cat, Midnight.

She was born on April 7, 1960, in Kentville, Nova Scotia, and eventually moved to Halls Harbour, where she met the love of her life, Paul. She spent many years raising her children and foster children in the Annapolis Valley and the town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She pursued many passions including self-employed sales from her home and in the community, a family-owned home bakery and craft store business, as well as many crafting hobbies.

She was known for her big, tender, and passionate heart and kindness, who loved God, her family, friends, and fur baby cat, Socks, deeply, and anyone who needed love or compassion. She was a devoted Christian and was often involved in her church community over the years, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, leading Bible studies with her husband, and taking part in many other church activities. She loved to thrift shop, find a good sale, and collect Precious Moments figurines, books, wicker baskets, crafts, teddy bears, jewellery, and many other beautiful things to gift to others.

The family would like to thank all the home care PSWs, nurses, ARCH Hospice staff, where she spent her final day, various medical professionals who cared for her over the years, the Arthur Funeral Home, Dwayne D Budgell Funeral Home, and Freedom House.

Per Cheryl’s expressed wishes, a private family viewing will take place, with cremation following the viewing. Her earthly remains will return home to Nova Scotia, and her gravesite will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Steam Mill, Nova Scotia. A public Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Freedom House, 305 West St., in Brantford, Ontario, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. In her honour and memory, think of her when you wear her favourite colour red, or pay it forward by showing kindness or love to others or helping someone in need. Donations can be made in her honour to the Alzheimer’s Society.
