On August 8, 2025 Dirk Roelof Woudstra was taken home to be in the glory of our Lord and Saviour. Although we are mourning that he is no longer with us, we rejoice that he is safely in the arms of Jesus.

Dirk was born in Groningen, the Netherlands, on September 6, 1923. After his studies, obtaining a degree as an Agricultural Engineer, Dirk immigrated to Canada in 1948; landing in Montreal. In 1953, after working on several tobacco farms in Quebec and Ontario, he saved enough money to return to the Netherlands to marry Jantje Venekamp (predeceased, 1987) his wife of 35 years. They returned to Canada moving to Kendal, Ontario to raise their family, eventually settling in Orono.

Dirk will be remembered for his love of the Lord and his deep desire to share the Gospel, especially in his final years at Glen Hill Strathaven.

Dirk is survived by his children Jenny Blok (Jan), Dirk (Nancy), Jake (Cindy, predeceased), Ralph (Rayna). He is a cherished Opa to 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the many staff of Glen Hill Strathaven for the love and excellent care they extended to our dad.

The funeral will take place at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 2805 Hwy 2, Bowmanville on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11am.
