YANTHA, Genevieve Veronica Yantha

Passed away peacefully at Miramichi Lodge in her 105th year on Monday, June 29th, 2026. Predeceased by her husband Max Yantha (August 25th, 1997) and infant son Gerard (October 24th, 1953).  Loving mother to Francis of Kitchener. Dearly remembered by her grandchildren Dan (Coreana) and Kirstyn. Great-grandmother to Addisyn and Ava. Predeceased by siblings Rose, Martha, Ambrose, Agnes, Eleanor, Florence, Mary Jean, Theresa, and Esther. She is survived by her best friend and sister, Sally.

Genevieve Veronica Yantha was a woman of deep faith; her devotion to the church and unwavering commitment to her family will be strongly missed. Disciplined with an unparalleled work ethic, Genevieve meticulously cared for an extensive vegetable garden into her mid-nineties. She was highly invested in her Polish heritage, family history, and local community. Genevieve was a social butterfly, never one to turn down an invitation to attend an event. Her grandchildren joked that she had a more active social life than they did!

She will be sorrowfully missed by many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation to be held at Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay on Friday July 3 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday July 4 at 11am with interment to follow.
