It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zygmunt Lesniara on October 25, 2026, at Toronto General Hospital, at the age of 80, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Wola Marcinkowska, Poland, Zygmunt was the son of the late Jadwiga and Stanislaw.
A devoted Christian, Zygmunt loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and treasured praying with and for his family. His kindness, patience, and quiet generosity touched everyone who knew him.
Zygmunt was a hardworking, humble, and gentle man who devoted his life to his family and his faith. He was a loving grandfather who took an active role in raising his grandchildren and a father figure to his sister-in-law Emilia following the loss of her father.
He built his family home in Poland with his own hands and worked tirelessly to provide a better future for those he loved. Known for his remarkable ability to fix almost anything, he generously shared his skills and time, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Zygmunt leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Stanislawa, his son Arkady (Hedy), his cherished grandchildren Victoria and William, his sister-in-law Emilia, and his siblings Roman, Aleksander, Jolanta, and Danuta.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle spirit, selfless love, and the lasting legacy he leaves in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 9am, followed by a funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10 am. Immediately following the service a reception will be held on the lower level of the Funeral Home. Interment will then take place at Mount Lawn Cemetery in Whitby at 12:45pm.
