Ferrovecchio AntonioFERROVECCHIO, Antonio "Tony"   -  Peacefully, on November 3, 2022, at the Harold and Grace Baker Center, now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Bruna (November 27, 2020).

Our father, grandfather and brother leaves behind a legacy of love.

Tony had a strong work ethic and worked tirelessly throughout his life to support his cherished family in every way.

Loving father to Domenic (Vanessa) and David. Cherished by his grandchildren, Christian and Alexander.

He leaves behind his sisters, Nicoletta (Rocco Tarulli - predeceased), Domenica (Domenico Galloro), and Marino (Cris); his nieces and nephews, Marino (Angela), Dolores (Sabino), Joanne, Vicky (Michael), David (Charlene), Robert (Deborah), Rita (Emilio), and Tina (Mario).

Tony left his home country of Italy in 1951 and along with his father, Domenico, paved the way for his mother and siblings to settle in Canada as well.

As a new immigrant, Tony had numerous jobs, primarily in construction, as was the case with many Italian immigrants. He also became a licensed driving instructor and taught many immigrants to drive.

In the mid 1960's, along with his friend, Frank Bernardo and brother-in-law, Alfredo Antenore, he opened up a funeral home at the corner of Dufferin St. and Glen Long Ave., a landmark family business which proudly serves the community to this day. In his leisure time he was a champion bowler and an avid soccer fan.

Tony also enjoyed a spirited game of cards with his friends at the club. A kind and patient man, Tony always had a smile upon his face.

Relatives and friends are welcomed to The Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin Street, Toronto), on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 6–9 p.m. and Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 4-9 p.m.  The Mass of Christian burial will take place in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church (811 Lawrence Ave. W., Toronto), on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. Private entombment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Harold and Grace Baker Center or The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto.
