Weppler BruceWEPPLER, Bruce Harvey   -

March 31, 1928 - April 7, 2024

Peacefully, in his 97th year, at Bradford Valley Community Care in Bradford, ON.

He is survived by his two children, Kevin Weppler and Joanne Weeks (Paul Laverty), and three grandsons, Christopher Weeks, Daniel and Jonathan Weppler.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 64 years, Winnifred Anne (Wyn) Turner in April 2022.

Bruce was the only child of the late Harvey S. Weppler and late Nina C. Heimbecker. He was born in Toronto, ON, and was a graduate of Etobicoke High School and the University of Toronto.

In 1951, he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He began his accounting career at Price Waterhouse, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) accreditation.

Bruce was the original family historian – he was proud of his German-Canadian heritage and delved into genealogy when it required corresponding by mail, sending faxes and visiting libraries to view microfilm or old documents, or churches or cemeteries.

Bruce was also a longtime member of All Saints Anglican Church, Etobicoke, ON. Bruce was kind to all and was a great conversationalist – though he might get bogged down in the details some times – much to our amusement. He was most proud of his children and the transformation of his grandsons into fine young men.

Safe travels Dad! We will miss you. There will be a private family funeral.

The family sends thanks to the amazing staff at Bradford Valley Community Care for their compassion and care over the past five months.

We also wish to thank the wonderful team at Delmanor Prince Edward for their support over the past few years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in our father's honour can be made to either LOFT Community Services or Dorothy Ley Hospice.
