BREIKSS, Ilga - Died peacefully in her sleep, on April 25th, 2024 after 99.5 years well lived.
Born in Latvia, she transitioned to Canada by way of Austria during the War.
Her life was one of experiences, adventures, hardships, resilience, strength, courage, and service – at work (CKOC, CHAM, CHFI/ CFTR, Hamilton Philharmonic), giving to her community (Women's Advertising and Sales Club, Latvija Amerika, DV, LNAK), supporting the arts and culture (Ticats, LSH) and always there for family (Edgars, Ruta, Anita, and all the rest).
Always ready to reminisce with a fascinating story about her incredible life, Ilga was a treasure to friends and family alike. Her passion, dedication and zest for life live on as an inspiration to all those left behind. She will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Christ Latvian Lutheran Church, 18 Victoria Avenue South, Hamilton, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, following the church service. Donations welcome to Latvian School in Hamilton.
