Freeman JeffFREEMAN, John Emerson 'Jeff' - With great sadness we announce Jeff’s passing on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at the age of 76.

Beloved husband of 44 years and best friend of the late Annette Freeman, she was the love of his life and we take comfort in knowing they are together again.

Cherished father of Amanda (Terry) and Lisa (Steve).

Adored grandfather of Chelsey, Katherine and Elizabeth.

Loving brother of Mary Lynne.

Jeff was born in Winnipeg and met Annette on a blind date at the Winnipeg Eaton’s in 1959. Jeff attended Kelvin High and studied business administration at the Manitoba Institute of Technology (MIT).

Jeff and Annette raised their children and settled in Kitchener for over 40 years. John worked for Imperial Oil and as Petroleum Division Manager at United Co-opreatives of Ontario.

After his early retirement, Jeff stayed active working part time for Pepsi/Lays, as well as being very involved with his grandkids.

Always seeking new knowledge and adventures, Jeff got his chance to fulfil his lifelong dream of travelling by backpacking around Asia, Europe, and North and South America.

Jeff was a devoted husband, intrepid adventurer, gourmand, fun grandpa, storyteller, historian and genealogist, loving and supportive dad, dog whisperer and a warm and generous friend to many. We will miss him immensely.

We invite friends and relatives to celebrate Jeff’s life. In Toronto, on Thursday, Sept. 6, a celebration and reception will be held at 67 Chaplin Cres from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For those who wish to say their goodbyes in person, a viewing will also be held, prior to the celebration, between 4pm and 5pm at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, Toronto. In Kitchener, on Friday, Sep 7, a reception and the interment will take place at 12pm.
