CICHOCKA, Irena - At age 80, passed away on November 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the Ivan Franko Home in Toronto.
She was born April 17, 1938, in Chotyniec (Poland) then later immigrated to Canada in 1987 where she remained with her family and continued her passion for teaching.
Irena was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 2013 and will be lovingly remembered by her surviving sister and brother, Zofia and Gregory, her children, Grace Gorzynska (Darek), Oksana Szewczyk (Bohdan), and Maria Hemon (Fr. Boris), as well as, her seven grandchildren, Peter, Markian, Nestor, Larisa, Anastasia, Ilyana and Alexa.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter - Neweduk - Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga, ON, on Sunday, December 2nd, from 6pm to 9pm. Info: 7pm Panachyda. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 300 River Oaks Blvd., Oakville, ON, on Monday, December 3rd, at 10:30 am. Interment St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery, Oakville, ON.
