Dilag AurelioDILAG, Aurelio “Papa Ding” - 92, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on June 30, 2019.

He was a father to 9 children, as well as a brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

Aurelio was born in Mao Central, Negros Occidental where he spent elementary and high school. In 1944, he joined the first batch of the Philippines Scout Rangers Class 1-51 and served loyally until retirement.

During his assignment in Arayat, Pampanga, he fell in love with Rosita and got married. With her, they started our big and loving family and migrated to Canada.

For the rest of his days, our family is blessed to have been able to provide him with a life full of his favourite things – watching Blue Jays (and more recently the Raptors), doing endless crossword puzzles, and eating lobster and steak dinners at least once a month.

Papa Ding’s priority in life has always been creating memories, which is why he looked forward to the weekends. This was when he could take his weekend breakfast and dinner pictures. As a gift to us he made sure every moment was captured with a “kodak” picture, many of which are posted on his Instagram (ding111226) and Facebook for his children, grand-children and relatives to see and enjoy.

A visitation will take place at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on July 5th from 5:00 PM - 09:00 PM.
