LAMPIČ, Albin - Albin Lampič born February 28th, 1936 in Ljubljana, Slovenia passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2020 at Credit Valley Hospital after a courageous battle.
Father “Ata” to daughters Marie (“Mo” May) in Barrie, Olga Reil in Mississauga and son David Lampič in Mississauga.
Grandfather “Stariata” to Danielle, Candace, Ryan, Alina and Kaitlyn and his great grandson Luka. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews and extended family in Slovenia.
Stariata was loved very much and he will be missed tremendously. His strength and love for Slovenia will be forever remembered and cherished in our memories and passed down for generations to come.
He loved to spend time either back home in Ljubljana with family, visiting Cuba, weekend visits supporting the Slovenian Hunters and Anglers Club in Everett, where one time he walked from city hall TORONTO to the club in Everett to raise money for Dom Lipa. He also enjoyed visiting the Simon Gregočič Slovenian club/farm on hwy 9.
He was very successful in his life owning his own painting company and many properties, and he was very active with walking, skiing or playing volleyball. Albin religiously listened to his Slovenian folk music and would never shy away from celebrating his heritage with family. He was always very proud to hear stories about his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their successes which made him very happy.
He was predeceased by his parents, father Alojz Lampič and mother Frančiška Ješe, his brothers Egidij and Franci Lampič, and his sisters Marica and Roska Lampič.
