Ortiz CarlosORTIZ, Carlos HumbertoCarlos Humberto Ortiz was born in 1956, in Chunchi, Ecuador.

In his pursuit to provide a better life for his family, he immigrated to Canada with his wife Alba. They built a family together; Carlos Jr., Stephanie and Samantha.

Carlos spent his life working hard and fiercely devoted to his family. He made friends easily, filled any room with laughter and charmed his way into all our hearts with his bright smile.

He enjoyed gardening, singing, dancing, sharing jokes, barbecuing and futbol.

On November 5th, 2018 Carlos was diagnosed with brain cancer. He underwent surgery and began an aggressive treatment plan. His courage, optimism and strength of character remained strong throughout his battle.

His determination to heal was unwavering, but on March 3, 2020 he passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family.

Carlos will be remembered as a charismatic and generous man with a heart of gold.

He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, his 3 children, his 2 grandchildren and his cherished extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Newediuk funeral home, 2058 Kipling Ave., Toronto on March 6th from 2 -4pm and 6 - 9pm.
