Malloch DougMALLOCH, John Douglas 'Doug' - Doug passed away suddenly at home on April 10, 2020, two weeks shy of his 87th birthday.

Predeceased by his wife Ann.

Survived by his sons Doug (Nadia), Bruce (Audrey), Rob (Sue) and Jim (Sandra), grandchildren Shannon (Arthur), Andrew, Mark (Mary), Carolyn (Mike), Laura (Matt), Bryan, Meagan, Allyson (Erik), Arlynn and Jessica, great grandchildren Kennedy and Dean, step-great grandchildren Keira and Aiden, and devoted sister-in-law Katherine McGuire.

Doug was born in Montreal on April 19, 1933. He attended Gilson Elementary School and West Hill High School. He married Ann McGuire, the love of his life, on October 29, 1955, a marriage that lasted more than 58 years until Ann’s death in 2014.

Doug worked as a master plumber for nearly 40 years, earning him the affectionate nickname “Pipe." Doug and Ann relocated from Montreal to the City of Brampton in 1999 and spent many happy years there.

Doug loved the outdoors and was an enthusiastic hiker, cyclist, cross-country skier, and intrepid year-round camper, both with family and as a volunteer Scout leader. He loved jazz and attended many concerts and festivals in Montreal and Brampton. A lifelong sports fan, he loyally followed his beloved Alouettes, Canadiens and Expos and spent countless hours cheering on the Macdonald Park, Loyola, Vanier and Concordia teams his sons played on. Most of all, he loved barbecuing delicious weekend meals in his backyard surrounded by family and friends.

Doug was a loving husband, devoted family man, loyal friend, and true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family and many friends, and fondly remembered by all who knew him for his kind, humble and generous spirit.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Andrews funeral home, Brampton, where messages of condolences may be left.

Please consider making a donation in Doug's memory to the charity of your choice.
