Heuberger AndreHEUBERGER, Andre Rene - 1929-2020 - In the early morning hours of June 5, Andre passed away on June 5, 2020 at True Davidson Acres. Andre suffered from mixed dementia (Alzheimers and vascular) and COPD. At time of his passing, he was cared for by the wonderful staff of True Davidson Acres. Prior to that he received excellent care from the staff of Moll Berczy Haus.

His family is forever grateful for the wonderful nurses, PSWs, recreation coordinators and volunteers we all encountered. We are sure if he could have expressed it, he would have said this himself. We want to specifically acknowledge his own PSW Bibi, who we obtained outside of these homes. She was part of this journey with Andre since 2013. She had a way to make him smile no matter what the circumstances.

Andre is predeceased by his wife Sharon Lynn (nee Olson).

Andre is survived by his son Rene, his daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Peter, by his granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Blake and by his five great grandchildren Devan, Colin, Kaitlyn, Madeline and Finn.

Andre immigrated to Canada from Germany in the 1950s. He was well educated and respected within his working life. He was known to be a highly organized worker. He spent the first years in Canada working his way up to eventually run, for a time, a development company with a partner building residential subdivisions in the GTA. Various other contract jobs ensued over the years and he was known to be an excellent carpenter.

Both Andre and his wife Sharon spent the last few decades together in their secluded home in Muskoka.

At this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, only immediate family members will be permitted to attend his memorial service. The family will provide a digital copy of the service materials including a slideshow that commemorates his life to close friends. Andre’s remains will be scattered at St. James Cemetery’s memorial rose garden. A memorial plaque will be placed next to his wife Sharon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honour Andre, can make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.
