CALDWELL, Hugh Lindsay Wesley – (1955 - 2020) - On August 19, 2020, in his 65th year, has been promoted to his heavenly home where there are many rooms that God has prepared.
Survived by his best friend and wife of nearly 42 years, Sharon Caldwell (née Jack), and his awesome children William (Lori), James (Robyn), Laura (Josh). Beloved grandfather of Mia, Madeline and Jack.
Also survived by his sisters, Ruth Barrett and Mary Knox, and brother Paul (Eileen). Brothers in-law Richard Jack (Janet), Dwight Jack (Joan), and sisters-in-law Marguerite Jack and Sandy Caldwell. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceased by his brother David, brothers-in-law Wally Barrett, Phillip Knox and William (Dan) Jack, and parents Lois and John (Jack) Caldwell.
Hugh grew up in Toronto, attending Runnymede Public School and Western Technical School. Following High School he went for one year to Central Baptist Seminary (now Heritage College and Seminary).
Hugh’s career began in policing with the Metro Toronto Police, included private security and investigations, and shifted into Finance and Management. Hugh was a resilient man with a fierce work ethic. When his branch was closed at the Royal bank, Hugh turned to self employment. Eventually, he was able to help out a friend in a temporary role at TA Canada. His position was eventually made permanent and Hugh dedicated the next 25 years of his career to TA/Convergint.
Hugh was a very consistent, honest, valued employee and was missed when he went onto sick leave due to colorectal cancer in February of 2018. He has remained in contact with many of his friends and colleagues.
Privately, Hugh served on the board of Precious Jewels Daycare Centre for 26 years. He also served on the board of Elders and the Board of Directors for Bramalea Baptist for many of those years.
He leaves a huge hole in our family, community, work, and church and will be deeply missed for his love for God and people, his humour, and his love of life. You will never be forgotten Dad, Hugh, and Grandpa.

Arrangements with Ward funeral home, Brampton Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wellspring Chinguacousy, where Hugh spent many hours during his cancer journey, or to a charity of your choice.
