Colangelo FelicitaCOLANGELO, Felicita (nee Morra) - (July 9, 1924 – September 2, 2020) - May she rest in God’s peace and joy... and may her memory last forever.

It is with great sadness that the family of Felicita Colangelo (nee Morra) announces her passing on September 2, 2020, at the age of 96.

She was born on July 9, 1924, in Monteleone di Puglia, a little town in Italy, which is situated on the tallest mountain in the region. One of twelve children, Felicita was a beautiful and smart young lady, immediately recognizable for her luxurious curls, which were the envy of the town. She met her future husband, Michele, at church, at the tender age of 16. He fell in love with her at first sight! They were married a few years later and went on to celebrate their love through 50 years of marriage.

Throughout her life, she was deeply devoted to God, the Virgin Mother, Saint Joseph and especially Saint Anthony of Padua, to whom she prayed often. Her deep faith gave her the strength and courage to cope with many challenges, including the loss of her first-born child, Giuseppe, surviving World War II, moving to Canada with her three young children and then having two more in her new home country. She certainly relied on her faith after the loss of her beloved Michele, living without him for the past 23 years.

Felicita possessed a deep sense of justice which guided her desire to always do the right thing - a quality she ingrained in all her children. She would end most phone conversations with the reminder: “Love each other because love is all there is.”

A marvellous cook, she was revered for her incredible Holiday feasts and Sunday dinners. She also had a wonderful sense of humour and was a great story-teller. Each of her funny stories was made more delightful by the fact that she would typically break into a great burst of infectious laughter before she ever got to the end! Her big, beautiful smile will be forever remembered and missed.

As the last survivor of a family of 12 children, her death closes the door to her generation of the Morra family. In her long life, she was a blessing to those who knew her. All her children and grandchildren loved her and were proud to call her mother and nonna.

She is survived by her beloved children, Joseph (Ada), Agatha, Maria Grazia, Tony (Deb), and Rocchina (Drew). She lives on in the hearts of her 10 grandchildren: Michael, Lisa (Robert), Jennifer (Chris), Ryan (Sasha), Sarah (George), Ben (Charlotte), Tom, Brett, Emma Felicity and Mia, and 10 beautiful great-grandchildren: Nico, Grayson, Gabriel, Everett, Carina, Katherine, Danika, Colton, Luca, and Adrian Felix.

Arrangemnts with Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave E., Scarborough. Funeral service will be held at St. Aidan Roman Catholic Church, 3501 Finch Ave E., Scarborough, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5th. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, North York
