ARULANANTHAN, Sivapackiam (Sornam) - It is with great sorrow we share the news about the passing of Sivapackiam (Sornam) Arulananthan of Kadduvan, Jaffna, Sri Lanka; born on September 13, 1935, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, in Scarborough, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arumugam Arulananthan.
Sornam was the beloved daughter of the late Cellappa and Deivanai couple; beloved sister of the late Nagaratnam, Sellamuthu, Vijayasundaram and Velayutham (UK), Subramaniam (Rasa-Sri Lanka), Bhuvaneswari (Canada).
Mrs. Arulananthan was the beloved matriarch of the Arulananthan family, raising her four children as well as caring for her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren in Sri Lanka, India, and Canada. Mrs. Arulananthan is survived by her four children: Gowri of Pennsylvania, Vasanthy of Ontario, Mathavan (Premila) of North Carolina, and Mathurangan (Jenny) of Ontario.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Haren (Caitlin) of California; Thulasi of Ontario, Janeni of Pennsylvania, Gokull of North Carolina, and Krishna of North Carolina.
