Maloney PatrickMALONEY, Patrick Joseph - In his 100th year. Born in Blackrock, ERIE on July 6, 1921. Passed away at Newmarket, Ontario on September 4, 2020.

Predeceased by his wife Ruth (2001) and Ann (2008).

Pat was born in Ireland and, as an orphan, spent his early years in a foster home and then at Fegan’s Home for Boys orphanage in England. He came to Canada as a British Home Child and worked on a farm in Queensville, Ontario. He enlisted in the RAF and was stationed in Scampton, England during WWII where he served as a mid-upper gunner on a Lancaster bomber.

Pat returned to Toronto, graduated from University of Toronto and began a career as an educator with the Toronto District School Board.

He had a deep and trusting faith in God and often spoke of God’s hand on his life, leading and directing him.

Pat will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Maureen Dinner (John) and Marilee Gosselin (Denis), grandchildren Christopher (Erika), Emily (Scott), Julie (Kurt), Madeleine, Patrick, Benjamin, great-granddaughter Harper, Ann’s family, sister-in-law Grace, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A huge thank you to the staff at Amica Newmarket for their outstanding care and compassion, particularly during the pandemic.

Arrangements with Thompson funeral home, Aurora. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a private memorial service will be held for immediate family. To offer condolences, please leave messages, stories or pictures for the family on this virtual memorial: www.gatheringus.com/memorial/patrick-maloney/4955

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Yonge Street Mission, one of Pat’s favourite charities would be appreciated www.ysm.ca/donate
