Skiffington JamesSKIFFINGTON, James 'Jim' - James Skiffington passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 91.

His devotion and firm belief in his God supported him over the past year and gave him peace.

James is survived by his loving wife, his three sisters Irene Hayward of Bonavista, NL, Dora Tremblett of Labrador City, NL, and Shirley (Bernard) Collins of Hare Bay, NL, sister in law Margaret Skiffington and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his Mother Mary Skiffington, sister Margaret Skiffington and brothers Andrew Skiffington and Wilmore Skiffington.

James was born in Bonavista, NL on July 28, 1929. At the age of 18 years old, he left Bonavista and travelled by rail to Toronto, Ontario where he worked in construction and then he worked with compressed metals until he retired at the age of 65.

In 1961, he met the love of his life Lillian Rowsell in church and within six months they were married. James was an avid reader and had a collected of over two thousand (2000) books in his library. He read every single one of those books and many more.

He was a man of few words but had a fountain of wisdom and knowledge of the bible. He had an unwavering faith in God, and he was always willing to talk about his walk with his Heavenly Father.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday December 4th at 10:00AM at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home on Main Street at Danforth Avenue, Toronto. **Due to the pandemic restrictions in place, please see this Livestream link to watch the funeral. Pastor Bruce Clarke from Nazarene Church will officiate.

In lieu of flower, his wife Lillian would like people to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in honor of James.
