Foster MargaretFOSTER, Margaret Louise - Margaret Louise Foster, 93 years, passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 5, 2020.

Beloved wife of Brian (deceased 2018) for over 50 years.

Much loved mother of Mac (Jean), Tom (Emily) and Jannine. Adored Grandmother of Christopher (Shannon), Julie and Brittany, of whom she was so proud, and “Grandma” to so many more.

Predeceased by her parents Ruth and Ted Ingle. Also predeceased by husband George Skelton (1963).

Although an only child, Margaret was a much loved “sibling” to all of her Skelton sisters/brothers-in-law and those relationships endured until each of their passings. She also valued her relationships with her many nieces and nephews, and former daughter-in-law, Terri (mother of Brittany).

Despite some early adversity, Margaret’s life journey is as interesting as it was resilient. Raised primarily by her Paternal Grandparents, her memories of them were that they were kind to each other and that they loved her very much. Margaret became a person who was loved and trusted by all who knew her. A beautiful heart, a caring soul, tenderly spoken.

As a young widow with two small boys and working as a school secretary, Margaret took many children under her wing and always made sure they had enough to eat and enough warm clothing in winter. It was to her that children were sent when they were struggling in the classroom. This was the essence of Margaret.

Margaret will be remembered for her many gifts and talents, including her creative and artistic flair. She enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, flower arranging, doll making, quilting, sewing, smocking, knitting, crocheting, decoupage, embroidery and could tell you the undertones in a paint chip of colour at 50 paces. She was an active member of St. Margaret in the Pines Anglican Church Alter Guild, she led Girl Guide groups and, in her younger days, was known to occasionally kick up her heels at a square dance or two.

For over 40 years, Margaret and Brian spent most of their free time with family and friends at the cottage - swimming, boating, fishing, feeding the chipmunks and hummingbirds - which brought them endless happiness and joy.

Until the end, Margaret was able to remain in her home, connected to good neighbours/friends of over 50 years, her wish made possible by support of family, friends, neighbours and support workers but, particularly, by the around the clock care provided by her loving daughter and friend, Jannine. The family extends its thanks and appreciation to family, friends and neighbours for all of the acts of kindness so generously given.

Arrangements entrusted with Giffen-Mack funeral home, Scarborough chapel. Due to Covid, a private family service is planned for December 11th. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs would be appreciated.

I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you.
