SHAWYER, Margaret Caroline - On Friday, December 4, 2020 in her 81st year.
Beloved daughter of Sheila and Robert Shawyer, brother of Michael Shawyer (Margaret), loving Aunt of Robert (Tory) and Suzanne, great Aunt to Kathleen and Andrew.
Cousin of Diana Bacon (Edmonton) and John Middleton (Ottawa) passed away quietly in her sleep.
Caroline was a teacher for the Toronto School Board for 35 years, teaching Kindergarten and Grade one. Caroline also provided extra teaching time to her students who needed help learning English and ensured that her students did not lack for art and other supplies in the classroom, very often paying for them herself.
She loved to paint and draw and took lessons at the Ontario College of Art. She was an accomplished musician and a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music. For many years she was a choir member at St. Paul’s Anglican Church and the Church of the Redeemer, Toronto.
Donations in Caroline’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
