DESAI, Indu - December 23, 1925 - December 24, 2020 - Indu Desai, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2020.
He is survived by his wife Saryu, daughter Viraj (Colm), son Vipool(Laura), his grandchildren Ashwin, Neilan and Kubera, and his extended family in Canada, US and India.
Indu was born in Gujarat, India in 1925, and received his M.Comm from the University of Bombay in 1952, having already started working at the Bank of Baroda in 1949.
In 1974, he and Saryu made the big decision to emigrate to Canada. Having served the Bank of Baroda with great loyalty and dedication for 25 years, he embarked on a new chapter in Canada.
The family settled in Scarborough, Toronto and Indu joined CIBC, where he enjoyed a second successful banking career until he retired in 1989.
His overall charm and good nature, his great intellect and curiousity about the world, and his genuine interest in others, all contributed to Indu’s great ability make friends far and wide.
He embraced his life in Canada, and never lost his love of travel and adventure. We have been fortunate indeed to have had him in our lives, and to cherish and hold dear his memory.
