EDWARDS, George Samuel - It is with great sadness that the family of George Samuel Edwards (September 9, 1936 - February 12, 2021) announce his passing after a brief illness, at the age of 84.
George was born in Trinidad to Carmelita and Wilfred Edwards, the third of seven children. George attended Queen’s Royal College and immigrated to Canada in 1969 where he started working with BP Oil in Montreal. In 1994 George, after 26 year with Petro Canada, retired.
George was an avid bowler, a great dancer and a lover of the steel pan, both playing and listening.
George was known for his love of travel, especially his yearly cruises to all corners of the Earth. He also loved the Toronto Blue Jay, the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Maple Leafs along with never missing a Wrestlemania or Friday Night Smackdown.
George will be greatly missed by his wife, Christine, his children - Maggie (Todd), Dexter, Gina (Sean), Denine (Tajai) and Kemba (Shaheim); his grandchildren - Alex, Kayah, Cruz, Tre, Isaiah, Makhi, Elijah, Savannah and Jacob; sisters - Daphney and Wilma; and his cousins Sylbert (Florence) and John, along with several nieces and nephews.
