Colby VernonCOLBY, Vernon Beverley - Vernon passed away at the Good Samaritan Seniors Complex, Alliston, Ontario on February 12, 2021. He was in his 88th year.

Vernon was the beloved husband of the late Edith "Beryl" Colby (nee Swan), dear father of Colin Colby of Innisfil and daughter in-law Marie Colby of Angus, and loving grandfather of Tyler and Christine Colby.

Vernon is survived by his brother Orval "Spike" (Bernadette) Colby of Toronto and sister Yvonne Dupeyron of Creston B.C.

Vernon was the cherished brother-in-law of Wilma Huffman of Corbyville; Shirley Swan of Belleville; Duane Martin of Kingstion; Ivan Clare of Stirling; Muriel McGee of Ottawa; Audrey (Gordon) Bulmer of Oshawa; Bruce Swan of Plainfield and Gary Boyles of North York.

Vernon was the loving friend of Sharon Panke of Richmond Hill.

Vernon was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Alma Colby, brother Trevor "Chuck" Colby; sisters-in-law Mary Colby, Erma Martin, Wanda Clare, Mona Ray, Gloria and Blanche Swan, and brothers-in-law Frank Dupeyron, Carman Huffman, Ralph Swan, Jim Ray and Milton McGee.

Vernon was a retired Ontario Fire Inspector (Ministry of the Solicitor General) and formerly Hotel Liquor Inspector. He was the previous owner and operator of Colby Motor Hotel in Havelock, Ontario.

Vernon was a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge #101, Peterborough and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner in Toronto.

Donations to the Shriners Children Hospital or the charity of your choice in Vernon's name would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Due to these unprecedented times, a memorial with be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home.
