WILSON, Gina (Boukydis) - Died peacefully on February 24, 2021, in her Toronto home, at the age of ninety-three.  At her side were her devoted niece, Diane and partner, Angelo; her caregivers, Melody and Teresita; her longtime housekeeper, Zena, and her family physician, Dr. Dominic Li.

Gina was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Pearson Wilson, and her elder siblings, George and Tula.  She leaves behind, in Athens, her youngest sister, Anita (Anthony), niece, Ariane (Alexis), nephew, George (Alexandra), and their children.

Her parents, Constantine and Dina Boukydis, were the founders of Diana Sweets Restaurants – a ninety-year establishment, integral to the history of Old Toronto.

Gina was the beating heart of her extended family, adored across the generations for her warmth, loving nature and genuine interest in the lives and welfare of all her relatives.

She was an accomplished violinist and excelled in her studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music. In 1953 she had the honour of representing Canada in a string ensemble at the occasion of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in London, England.

Sincere thanks to Teresita Alfredo and Melody Daiz, whose loving, assiduous care allowed Gina to live her final chapter with joy, comfort and grace.  Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Dominic Li and his staff for their compassionate attendance to all of Gina’s health needs.

A private service was held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a favourite charity in Gina’s memory are gratefully appreciated.
