MITCHELL, Louwell Catherine  -  It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Louwell Catherine Mitchell, on March 7, 2021.

Louwell, was born on April 3, 1945 in Grenada, The West Indies.

Upon arrival to Canada, Louwell married her sweetheart, Dr. Alfred Mitchell (deceased June 21, 2018).

Louwell was a natural caretaker, which was evident in her occupation as a geriatric nurse. Sadly, Louwell suffered a brain aneurism that left her with severe brain damage and a loss of short-term and limited long-term memories.

While Louwell was confined to general hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals and nursing homes for decades – she never lost her ability to smile, help others, give hugs, dance and sing.

I would like to thank the nurses, PSW's, doctors and staff at Sienna Living St. George – who have always gone above and beyond to take care of Louwell, you were an extended family that we are so thankful we had.

Louwell is survived by her only daughter Lissa Mitchell, son-in-law Frank Conroy and granddaughter Ava Catherine Conroy.

Mom, you are "my sunshine" and I will love and miss you forever, but I am pleased that you are reunited with "Alfie".

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you kindly make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.ca/en/donate/?region=on) in memory of Louwell Mitchell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
